Job summary

Qualifications

• Required - High School diploma or equivalent
• Preferred - Trade school or company school
• 2 years of experience in Commercial, Industrial or Hospital Maintenance or completion of the Ochsner Apprenticeship program
• Valid driver’s license in the state of residence

Responsibilities

• Performs general inspections, troubleshooting and repairs of minor electrical, mechanical, and plumbing items within the hospital or clinic setting.
• Follows up on completed assignments ensuring equipment is working appropriately.
• Responds to and repairs specialty systems, such as nurse call system, fire alarm system, television system, medical gas system, and the ceiling system.
• Completes preventive maintenance inspections in accordance with scheduled checkpoints and maintains documentation appropriately.
• Assists with any maintenance on associated equipment within assigned area(s)
• Performs other related duties as required.
• Assists other Hospital and Clinic departments with daily maintenance and support services as needed.
• Will assist with repairs and upkeep of facilities structures and building systems
• In the event of severe weather emergencies or disaster, personnel will be assigned a work area and remain onsite during the duration.
