Job summary

Ochsner Health in Louisiana is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support hospital and clinic operations. You will perform preventive maintenance, repairs and troubleshoot electro/mechanical systems across assigned areas, using test equipment and a variety of hand tools.

Required is a High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related maintenance experience or completion of the Ochsner Apprenticeship. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in commercial, industrial or hospital maintenance or completion of the Ochsner Apprenticeship program.
• High School diploma or equivalent; trade school preferred.
• Valid driver's license in the state of residence.
• Must be able to work indoors, outdoors, and in restricted spaces for extended periods.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Performs general inspections, troubleshooting and repairs of minor electrical, mechanical, and plumbing items within the hospital or clinic setting.
• Responds to and repairs specialty systems (nurse call, fire alarm, TV, medical gas, ceiling systems).
• Completes preventive maintenance inspections and documents results.
• Assists with maintenance on equipment within assigned areas.
• May require on-call work for emergencies and extended hours.
