Job summary

Ochsner Health in Louisiana is seeking a skilled hospital maintenance technician to join our facilities team. You will perform inspections, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems across hospital and clinic settings, ensuring safe and reliable operations.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, responding to emergencies, and supporting various trades such as HVAC, carpentry, and electrical work.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; trade school or apprenticeship preferred.
• 2 years of experience in Commercial, Industrial or Hospital Maintenance or completion of the Ochsner Apprenticeship program.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC-R, and carpentry.
• Familiarity with state, parish, and building codes; ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and repairs minor electrical, mechanical, and plumbing items in hospital settings.
• Responds to and repairs specialty systems (nurse call, fire alarm, TV, medical gas).
• Performs preventive maintenance and documents checkpoints.
• Assists with maintenance of equipment in assigned areas.
• On-call for emergencies and extended hours.
