Job summary

Crystal Ridge Care Center is seeking a dependable cook to manage and operate the kitchen when the Dietary Supervisor is absent. You will ensure safe, sanitary food prep, follow menus, and help with special diets for residents.

The role requires hospital or long-term care cooking experience, a high school diploma, and ServSafe certification. Expect to maintain food safety standards and assist with meal service daily.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility for at least 1 year.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.
• Must remain in good standing with the Department of Public Health.
• Ability to read technical procedures and follow recipes.
• Ability to present information to managers and employees.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare tasteful meals and cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Follow prepared menus and portion control guides; prepare special diets accurately.
• Record food temperatures; prepare pureed foods and cooperate with all departments.
• Maintain sanitizer buckets; assist with serving meals and clean serving carts.
• Report resident care concerns to Administrator or Director of Nurses; participate in training.
• Supervise and cooperate as needed in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
