Job summary

Crystal Ridge Care Center is seeking a cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor, reporting to the Dietary Supervisor.

You will maintain a safe, sanitary kitchen, prepare meals for large quantities, follow menus, record temperatures, and supervise dietary staff as needed.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of hospital or long-term care cook experience; ServSafe certification required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility for at least 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Ability to prepare tasteful meals and to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Ability to follow prepared menus and portion control guides.
• Prepare special diets accurately and record food temperatures.
• Assist with serving the different meals.
• Report resident care concerns to Administrator or Director of Nurses.
• Supervise dietary staff in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
