Job summary

Arkansas Hospice, Inc. is seeking an On-Call Registered Nurse (RN) to provide skilled nursing interventions and supportive care in patient homes during weekends, evenings, nights and holidays.

The role supports the hospice interdisciplinary plan of care and requires a valid Arkansas RN license along with a driver’s license and insurance. Qualified candidates will have at least two years of nursing experience, with one year in hospice or home health, and BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Minimum of two years nursing experience; at least one year in hospice or home health.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Arkansas.
• Must possess a valid Arkansas driver’s license, car and car insurance.
• Must be able to work rotating schedule 7 of 14 days; on-call with 80-hour pay period.

Responsibilities

• Assumes weekend, evening, night and holiday on-call duty as scheduled.
• Manages home-based patient care within the hospice interdisciplinary plan of care.
• Coordinates with physicians/Medical Director for changes in patient care.
• Maintains accurate patient records in the electronic medical record.
• Provides education to caregivers and monitors patient comfort and family needs.
• Responds to medical or emotional crises and attends death with appropriate counseling.
