Job summary

StartupNWA in the Northwest Arkansas region is seeking a compassionate RN to join our hospice team. You will provide patient visits, collaborate with physicians, and support families during challenging times.

This role emphasizes thoughtful, patient-centered care with in-home visits and a commitment to quality of life. The position requires an unrestricted RN license in AR/OK or a compact, BLS certification, strong assessment and communication skills, and the ability to use computer charting.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted RN license in AR/OK or compact license.
• BLS certification and strong assessment skills.
• Experience in hospice, home health, or acute care nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care visits and triage as part of the hospice team.
• Liaise with physicians and other care professionals.
• Attend deaths and assist with admission processes.
• Have excellent documentation and communication with patients and families.
• Utilize a personal vehicle for home visits and maintain charting records.

Job description

This position will be based out of a facility in Northwest Arkansas or NE Oklahoma. Will make home hospice nursing visits as needed and in rotation with other teammates. Hospice nursing provides a meaningful connection with patients and families. Our nurses take their time and have incredible amounts of 1:1 time to coach and educate patients and families in our care. General Description:

The RN is an integral part of the hospice interdisciplinary care team and as such is responsible for providing patient care visits, assessing medical needs, liaising with physicians, attending deaths, triage calls, and assisting with the admission process. The RN must have an understanding that hospice care must be delivered according to accepted standards of practice, guided by the mission of the organization and the patient/family's needs and concerns, the RN blends all services of the hospice into an integrated program of support.

Requirements:

Current unrestricted AR, OK, or compact RN license, BLS certification, strong assessment skills with critical thinking and high level of problem solving within a healthcare facility. Strong documentation and communication with the ability to stay calm and cope with human suffering/emergencies. Prefer hospice experience, home health, or acute care nursing experience with computer charting experience.

Position requires use of personal vehicle, a valid driver's license and current auto insurance.
