Job summary

Caring Hospice Services in Massachusetts is seeking an On-Call Registered Nurse to provide compassionate hospice care after hours, with emphasis on pain and symptom control for seriously ill patients. Work schedule: 7 on/7 off.

You must be licensed as an RN in MA and have reliable transportation. The nurse will implement physician plans of care, establish a nursing plan of care based on the nursing process, perform thorough patient assessments, and document findings accurately.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in Massachusetts.
• Hospice or end-of-life care experience preferred.
• Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide after-hours hospice nursing care focusing on pain and symptom control.
• Implement physician plans of care and establish a nursing plan of care based on nursing process.
• Communicate pertinent findings to the physician and instruct families accordingly.
• Prioritize and respond promptly to calls from the answering service.
• Travel to patient homes with reliable automobile and proof of liability insurance.
