Job summary

Sun Recruiting, Inc. is seeking a compassionate Hospice Nurse (LPN or RN) for a 7on/7off on-call schedule in the Kansas City area. The role covers evenings and weekends, serving patients at home and in facilities within roughly a 30-mile radius of the East Kansas City Metro.

The nurse evaluates needs via phone, makes home or facility visits as required, coordinates with an interdisciplinary team, and provides symptom management, teaching and care coordination after normal business hours.

Qualifications

• Active MO/KS nursing license
• CPR certification required
• 2–5 years hospice/palliative care experience
• Knowledge of hospice services and interdisciplinary care
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs via phone, home, or facility visits.
• Coordinate and direct care with interdisciplinary team.
• Provide symptom management, teaching and care coordination.
• Respond to caregiver concerns after hours
