Job summary

Food Management Search, Inc. seeks a compassionate Hospice Nurse (LPN or RN) for a 7on/7off, on-call schedule covering the East Kansas City Metro area. The role supports patient needs during evenings and weekends, with care planned from home and community resources after normal hours.

The nurse evaluates and responds to patient and caregiver needs via phone, home visits, or facility visits, coordinating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality end-of-life care.

Qualifications

• Active Nursing License in MO or KS.
• Current CPR certification.
• 2–5 years of hospice, palliative care experience.
• Knowledge of hospice care and interdisciplinary services.
• Demonstrate organizational skills.
• Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate analytical skills for problem-solving.
• Demonstrate high attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Provide after-hours hospice nursing care via telephone, home visits, or facility visits.
• Assess patient and caregiver needs and coordinate with an inter-disciplinary team.
• Manage symptoms and provide patient and family teaching.
• Respond to patient/caregiver concerns during on-call shifts.
