Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or GED.
• Requires valid WA driver license and tribal vehicle insurance eligibility.
• Must obtain First Aid/CPR within 30 days of employment.
• Must obtain Food Handlers permit and health clearance within 10 days.
• Criminal background clearance with emphasis on child-related offenses.

Responsibilities

• Oversee family-style meal service for 10–60 children.
• Prepare nutritious meals per Head Start standards and USDA requirements.
• Order food and kitchen supplies; maintain inventory.
• Complete daily/monthly records per USDA/Head Start guidance.
• Maintain sanitation and safety standards in kitchen and equipment.
• Provide nutrition education to staff, students, and parents.
• Incorporate cultural foods into the Food Service Program.
• Possibly perform janitorial duties to ensure a clean environment.
