Job summary

Confederated Tribes Of The Colville Reservation is seeking a Short Notice Cook for on‑call coverage in a Head Start kitchen. You will supervise kitchen operations, prepare nutritious meals for 10–60 children, and ensure safety and sanitation standards are met.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED, valid WA driver’s license, First Aid/CPR within 30 days, and food handling certifications. Preference applies to tribal members; on‑call reporting within one hour of notification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid WA driver’s license with eligibility for Tribes vehicle insurance.
• First Aid/CPR Certification within 30 days of employment.
• Food Handler’s permit, TB Test, and Health Clearance within 10 days of employment.
• Background clearance showing no crimes involving a child or serious offenses; ongoing compliance required.
• Substance-free lifestyle and adherence to policies; willingness to sign confidentiality oath.

Responsibilities

• Oversee kitchen operations, safety and sanitation throughout the year.
• Manage food ordering and inventory for the kitchen.
• Prepare meals meeting Head Start and USDA standards for 10–60 children.
• Produce daily and monthly records as required by USDA and Head Start guidance.
• Provide nutrition education and assist with nutritional assessment of children.
• Support janitorial duties to maintain a safe, clean environment.
