Job summary

WSP USA Inc. is seeking 10 to 15 Archaeological Field Technicians for fieldwork on multiple archaeological projects across Nevada, Oregon, and Utah. These are on-call hourly positions with imminent work, hotel accommodations, and per diem provided.

Pay is based on education and experience, with opportunities for extended fieldwork in remote areas. Responsibilities include assisting with locating, testing, recording, mapping, and evaluating sites, conducting pedestrian and shovel test surveys,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related discipline.
• Minimum 1 year archaeological field experience.
• CRM field experience or academic field school.
• Knowledge of equipment, tech, and paperwork used in recording artifacts.
• Ability to learn local cultural history and material culture.
• Plan and execute personal assignments with minimal instruction.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work long hours in harsh environments and varying weather.
• Effective communication with team members.
• Pass drug test and maintain a drug-free environment.
• Pass background check and motor vehicle screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support using field techniques to locate, test, record, map, and evaluate sites.
• Support field surveys through pedestrian and shovel test surveys.
• Use topographic maps, aerial photos, and GPS data collection to conduct surveys.
• Work long hours in remote environments and varying weather conditions.
• Collaborate with diverse teams and take direction well.
• Maintain a positive attitude and work independently when needed.
• Plan and execute personal assignments with minimal instruction.
