Job summary

Peckham, Inc. is seeking maintenance staff to support rehabilitation efforts across Michigan facilities. The role requires performing repairs, preventive maintenance, and basic construction tasks in a safe, code-compliant environment.

Normal hours are 7:00am–3:30pm with on-call rotation and possible overtime for emergencies. Travel between Peckham facilities in Michigan is required. A valid Michigan driver’s license and ability to pass a federal background check are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in facilities maintenance or related field.
• Valid MI driver’s license.
• Ability to pass a federal background check to access secure areas.

Responsibilities

• Respond to work orders by logging into a computer/tablet or using verbal or written direction from supervisor.
• Perform troubleshooting to diagnose repair causes.
• Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand and power tools and reassemble equipment.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to keep buildings running smoothly and systems operating efficiently.
• Perform basic commercial flooring repairs.
• Perform basic wall repairs (patch drywall and paint).
• Troubleshoot and repair roof leaks.
• Perform basic plumbing diagnostics and troubleshoot clogged drains and leaking pipes.
• Research and maintain parts and tool inventories and attic stock inventories.
• Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to assist with diagnosing repairs.
