Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support the Maintenance Director in maintaining the community’s physical plant. You will handle electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC and related tasks, ensuring compliance with life-safety codes and quality standards.

The role requires 3+ years in maintenance, English proficiency, and a high school diploma or GED. On-call availability is needed as the building operates 24/7, with a comprehensive benefits package for full-time

Qualifications

• Must have at least 3 years in a maintenance related role.
• Read, write and speak English proficiently.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and building and fire safety codes.
• Experience working with a senior/geriatric population is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on grounds and facility areas.
• Repair plumbing, electrical, carpentry and HVAC systems as directed.
• Maintain safety practices and clean, orderly environments.
• Inspect and test fire alarm and other safety systems; keep records.
• Prepare vacant rooms to rent-ready condition within 72 hours of move-out.
