Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) seeks an On-Call Caterer/Driver to join the RISD Caters group. This role offers flexible shift work to supplement income or grow experience in events and catering. You will organize and transport equipment, assist with set-up, and may perform light food preparation.

The position emphasizes inclusivity and equity in RISD’s campus environment and requires a valid driver’s license, strong customer service, and at least 1–3 years in fast-paced food service.

Qualificações

• Must hold a valid driver’s license.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a keen attention to detail and visual presentation are required.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students and a discerning external clientele.
• Commitment to centering inclusivity, diversity and equity in executing key responsibilities.
• High school diploma.
• Minimum of one to three years of previous experience in a fast-paced food service environment, or an equivalent combination of experience and education is required.

Responsabilidades

• Expedite, load, transport, unload and set up food, wares and supplies for catered functions, coordinating delivery and setup to meet scheduling and visual presentation expectations.
• Perform basic food preparation and assist with serving while maintaining safety and HAACP standards.
• Participate in inventory processes for catering items and supplies and ensure storage areas are orderly and sanitary.
• Ensure proper use and cleanliness of catering motor vehicles, including fueling and mileage logs; report repairs as needed.
• Make daily deliveries for catering.
