Job summary

RISD in Providence is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support dining operations in a fast-paced, student-facing environment. You will help with ingredient prep, mise en place, setting up and breaking down service areas, and maintaining clean storage spaces and equipment while following standardized recipes.

The role involves assisting with deliveries, restocking stations, serving at lines, and upholding health codes and FIFO.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; prior food service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of kitchen sanitation and safety guidelines.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen and follow recipes accurately.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; team player.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ingredient prep and mise en place.
• Set up, maintain, and break down service areas and storage.
• Assist with deliveries and restock stations.
• Provide friendly service at service lines and with customers.
• Follow health codes, FIFO, and proper PPE usage.
• Help in bake shop, catering, or front-of-house operations as assigned.
