Responsibilities

• Greets patients and the public in a courteous, professional manner while upholding HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
• Processes pre-registered accounts and collects demographic, insurance, financial and medical information for admissions.
• Obtains required signatures on medical, financial and compliance documents and prepares patient identification band.
• Scans documents into the electronic medical/financial record system.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and coverage; initiates prior authorization to minimize denials.
• Requests and accepts payments for balances due at admission or discharge.
• Collaborates with the multi-disciplinary team to maximize patient satisfaction and reimbursement.
