Job summary

Alamance County EMS in Graham, NC seeks an EMT BASIC to provide essential emergency medical care, stabilize patients, and operate EMS equipment on a 24-hour shift. The role supports life-saving services across the county on an on-call basis.

The position requires EMT certification in NC, a high school diploma or equivalent, and basic computer/data-entry skills. Departmental benefits include health and retirement plans as described in the county offerings.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required and some experience as an EMT; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior experience with data-entry and computers preferred.
• Possession of a valid NC driver's license is required. Certification by the State of North Carolina as an EMT.

Responsibilities

• Responds to emergency calls for medical illnesses, traumatic injuries, vehicle crashes, fires, and disasters with partner EMT/Advanced EMT/Paramedic.
• Monitors, maintains and inspects ambulance units for readiness and inventory; ensures vehicle cleanliness and disinfection.
• Operates emergency medical vehicle and determines most efficient routes.
• Records patient care data and demographic information for billing and data collection.
