Job summary

Save the Children in North Carolina seeks a Program Aide on-call/Substitutes to support infants, toddlers and preschoolers. The role involves classroom, kitchen, and general program duties, with travel to various sites as needed.

Responsibilities include assisting classroom staff, leading activities, and covering for teachers during absences while upholding safety and program standards in Head Start environments.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Certification as applicable by Head Start or childcare regulations (future updates may apply).
• Within 90 days of employment, obtain and maintain basic first aid and pediatric CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Apply clear practice and procedures in day-to-day execution of job.
• Organize self and manage time to get things done.
• Build effective relationships with children, families and staff.
• Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
• Serve as a substitute in the periodic absence of teachers.
