Job summary

WSP USA is seeking On-Call Emergency Managers to support disaster recovery operations nationwide, including deployment to multiple locations to lead recovery efforts. This is not a full-time role and is project-dependent, requiring travel with short notice and flexibility to deploy across the United States.

Selected candidates will supervise recovery staff, oversee grants and documentation, and build trusted relationships with agency leadership throughout the recovery lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 5+ years professional experience, including 1+ years in Emergency Management or related field.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related concentration, or equivalent.
• Extensive knowledge of Emergency Management principles, methods and techniques.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• FEMA EMI Independent Study certification.
• Travel required to client sites as needed.
• Adherence to company conduct and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead disaster recovery operations for assigned clients, directing teams through recovery phases.
• Deploy to Emergency Operations Centers or Field Staging Areas to lead recovery on the ground.
• Supervise recovery staff across logistics, documentation, and resource management.
• Analyze project applications and reports for compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
• Manage a portfolio of recovery projects from initiation to closeout.
• Monitor progress using grant management systems across multiple projects.
• Advise staff and clients on procurement, contracting, and grant compliance.
• Lead training and onboarding for recovery staff.
• Build and maintain client relationships as a trusted advisor.
