Job summary

Era Living is seeking an on-call Cook for University House Wallingford in Seattle, WA. This per-diem role covers an August 2026 leave of absence, scheduled Tuesday and Wednesday from 11:00AM to 7:30PM, totaling 16 hours weekly.

compensation ranges from $23.30 to $27.30 per hour with full benefits. After August 2026, hours are provided on an as-needed basis. Join our Culinary Services team to deliver quality dining experiences for residents.

Qualifications

• First Aid and CPR certified or able to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Food Handler’s Certificate or able to obtain within 14 days of hire.

Job description

$23.30 - $27.30 per hour | Great benefits! Free Meals! Era Living is seeking an on-call Cook to become the newest member of our Culinary Services team located in our University House Wallingford Community, Seattle, WA. To cover an employee leave of absence this per-diem role will be scheduled for 16 hours per week - Tuesday and Wednesday from 11:00AM to 7:30PM - for the month of August 2026 only. After August 2026, this role will be per-diem only and provided hours on an as needed basis.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Cook will prepare meals in accordance with planned menus and recipes, ensuring that each resident has a memorable dining experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Culinary knowledge & ability to perform routine food service functions.
• Proven ability to follow recipe preparation instructions and specific culinary procedures
• Ability to distinguish smells, tastes and temperatures
• Ability to understand proper food storage procedures
• Ability to adhere to strict established cleanliness standards
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English
• Ability to pass DSHS background check, required

Education and Experience:

• Required:
• First Aid and CPR certified or able to obtain within 30 days of hire
