Job summary

Avamere Skilled Advisors, LLC in Hermiston, OR seeks an On-Call Caregiver to provide compassionate support for residents in a memory care/assisted living setting. You will assist with daily living activities, emotional support, and maintaining a safe, clean environment.

Qualifications

• Prefer experience as a Caregiver in a Memory Care Unit or Assisted Living Facility.
• Must obtain and maintain active CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Must obtain a Food Handler’s Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
• A genuine desire to improve the quality of life for seniors.
• Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with Activities of Daily Living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Provide mobility assistance and support transferring and using mobility aids.
• Help with meal preparation and setting up meals.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Maintain housekeeping, laundry, cleaning, and tidying in resident areas.
• Observe health changes and report concerns; monitor vital signs.
• Answer resident calls for assistance in a timely manner.
• Maintain confidentiality and a safe work environment; report safety concerns.
• Assist with orientation of new residents and staff as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.
