Job summary

Avamere at Hermiston in Hermiston, OR is seeking an on-call Caregiver to support residents across day, evening and night shifts. You will assist with daily living activities, provide emotional companionship, and help keep residents safe and comfortable.

Responsibilities include ADLs, mobility support, light housekeeping, health observation, and timely response to calls. Certifications (CPR/First Aid and Food Handler) are required or obtainable during employment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Caregiver in Memory Care Unit or Assisted Living Facility.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Ability to obtain a Food Handler's Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
• Genuine desire to improve the quality of life for seniors.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting).
• Provide mobility assistance and support transfers.
• Assist with meal setup and light meal prep; help with trays.
• Offer emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Observe health changes and report concerns to staff.
• Maintain a clean, safe living environment and confidentiality.
• Respond to resident calls for assistance promptly.
• Assist with orientation of new residents and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
