Job summary

Avamere at Hermiston in Hermiston, OR is seeking compassionate on-call Caregivers to assist residents with daily living activities, provide emotional support, and help maintain a safe, clean environment.

You will support mobility, meal preparation, and housekeeping, monitor health, document in EMR, and respond to calls promptly. CPR/First Aid certification and a Food Handler's Card are preferred or required during employment.

Qualifications

• Prefer experience as a Caregiver in a Memory Care Unit or Assisted Living Facility.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Must be able to obtain a Food Handler’s Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
• Genuine desire to improve quality of life for seniors.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility support, meal setup and tray removal.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Perform housekeeping tasks: cleaning, laundry, tidying patient rooms.
• Monitor residents' health, report concerns, and assist with safety protocols.
• Answer calls for assistance promptly and maintain confidentiality and a safe environment.

Caregiver

Type: On-Call

Shift: Day, Evening, & Night Shift

Location: Avamere at Hermiston- 980 West Highland Avenue, Hermiston, OR 97838

The caregiver's duties encompass a wide range of tasks, including assisting with activities of daily living, emotional support, housekeeping, and ensuring the resident's safety and well-being.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):

• Personal Hygiene: Helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Mobility Assistance: Supporting residents with walking, transferring, and using mobility aids.
• Meal Preparation: Assisting with setting up meals, cutting up food if needed, and removing trays from rooms.

Emotional Support and Companionship:

• Providing Emotional Support: Offering empathy, listening to residents, and providing encouragement.
• Companionship: Engaging in conversations, activities, and social interactions to combat loneliness and isolation.

Housekeeping:

• Maintaining a clean and safe environment, including laundry, cleaning, and tidying up.

Health Monitoring and Medical Advocacy:

• Observing residents for changes in health, reporting concerns to medical professionals, and monitoring vital signs.

Other:

• Answer resident calls for assistance timely.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe work environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Maintain a safe work environment. Report safety concerns in the resident apartments to the supervisor.
• Assists with the orientation of new residents and staff when assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.

Requirements and Qualifications
