Job summary

Boston Properties is seeking a Maintenance Technician / Building Engineer to maintain the integrity of building systems, operate properties efficiently and deliver tenant services while following safety procedures.

The role covers HVAC, electrical, plumbing, energy management, and on‑call responsibilities across properties. A minimum of 2–4 years in commercial office operations and HVAC certification are preferred; relevant licenses may apply by location.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• HVAC certification or training.
• OSHA/NFPA knowledge and codes familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and repair building and site systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection).
• Coordinate with contractors, inspect work and generate deficiency lists.
• Complete tenant requests and maintain records for the property.
• Support in training less experienced staff and communicate status to stakeholders.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies per on-call procedures.
