Job summary

New Moms in Chicago and western suburbs seeks a Backup Community-based Doula to support healthy pregnancies, promote breastfeeding, and build strength-based relationships. On-call 1 week per month, including after hours, weekends, and holidays; attend births in person or virtually as needed.

Role includes documenting services, coaching over the phone, and continued coaching model participation. Requires DONA training with certification preferred and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• DONA training is required; certification preferred.
• Experience with vulnerable populations, urban parenting, or related social services.
• On-call availability: minimum 1 week per month including after hours, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Attend labor and deliveries to support the laboring participant and family.
• Document services in participant files and information systems as needed.
• Be available on-call to coach over the phone and attend births in person or virtually.
• Develop as a coach by participating in the New Moms Coaching Model and demonstrate growth in competencies.
• Maintain Doula Certification if applicable.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
