Job summary

San Antonio Birth Doulas is seeking a dedicated doula to support new and expectant mothers and their partners throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. The role includes creating birth plans, providing education, and remaining on-call 24/7 for labor support in office, home, or clinic/hospital settings.

The position requires credible doula training and 1+ year of related experience, with strong interpersonal skills and attention to confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or 2+ years related work experience.
• Credible doula training with minimum 1 year birth/postpartum experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in creating birth/postpartum plans and provide prenatal education.
• Provide labor, birth, postpartum, and breastfeeding support as on call 24/7.
• Maintain documentation (Charity Tracker, Birth Information sheet, Briteworks).
• Offer perinatal support via home visiting or hospital/clinic settings.
• Adhere to HIPAA and Texas Medical Records Act; protect client confidentiality.
