Job summary

The Langham Boston invites applications for a Banquet Server to join our renowned Banquets team. You will help deliver exceptional guest experiences by setting up tables, serving food and beverages, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.

Responsibilities include attending to banquet events, resolving guest concerns professionally, and coordinating with the Chef and Banquet Management to meet dietary needs and standards.

Qualifications

• Prior banquets and food & beverage/hospitality experience required.
• Standing for 90% of the work shift is required.
• Requires ability to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper set-up for all tables and buffets in assigned meeting rooms.
• Inspect linen, silver, china, glassware and other table items for cleanliness and appearance.
• Serve food, coffee, water and other beverages to customers as required on the banquet event order.
• Resolve complaints in regards to banquet functions in a timely, positive and professional manner.
• Clean banquet room and banquet area during and after banquet functions.
• Follow Langham Hotel’s service standards and health and safety procedures.
• Communicate with Banquet Management daily and coordinate with Chef on dietary restrictions.
• Cooperate closely with other banquet team members including servers, porters and kitchen staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure proper set-up for all tables and buffets in assigned meeting rooms, attention to detail.
• Inspect linen, silver, china, glassware and other table items for cleanliness and appearance.
• Serve food, coffee, water and other beverages to customers as required on the banquet event order.
• Resolve complaints in regards to banquet functions in a timely, positive and professional manner.
• Clean banquet room and banquet area during and after banquet functions.
• Be aware of and practice Langham Hotel’s service standards.
• Positive team player with the ability to get larger tasks completed.
• Follow health and safety procedures according to hotel specifications.
• Work well in a team atmosphere and independently.
• Performs general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by your supervisor to adhere to Health standards.
• Must adhere to All State, Federal and Corporate food handling and alcohol serving regulations.
• Communicate with Banquet Management on a daily basis.
• Communicate and coordinate with Chef in regards of special dietary restrictions or allergies.
• Cooperate closely with other members of the banquet team including servers, porters and kitchen associates.
• Additional duties may also be requested by supervisor.
• Acquire a working knowledge of the hotel, in house facilities and local information to respond to customer inquiries.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Prior banquets and food & beverage /hospitality experience required.
• Activities include standing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, handling, grasping, lifting, carrying, talking, and walking.
• Standing for 90% of work shift is required.
• Requires the ability to lift 50lbs.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Pay Rate:

• $19.50 per hour plus gratuity
