Job summary

Langham Boston is seeking a Banquets Staff member to support high-end events, ensuring flawless setup, service and guest satisfaction. You will work with a passionate team to deliver exceptional food quality and guest experience while upholding Langham’s standards.

The role requires standing for most of the shift, lifting up to 50lbs, and legal authorization to work in the United States. Previous banquet or hospitality experience is preferred and gratuities apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Prior banquets and food & beverage / hospitality experience required.
• Standing for 90% of work shift is required.
• Requires the ability to lift 50lbs.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Set up tables and buffets in assigned rooms with attention to detail.
• Inspect linen, silver, china, glassware and other items for cleanliness and appearance.
• Serve food, coffee, water and other beverages as required on the banquet event order.
• Resolve complaints in regards to banquet functions in a timely, positive and professional manner.
• Clean banquet room and banquet area during and after functions.
• Follow Langham Hotel’s service standards and work as a positive team player.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures and work with banquet team and kitchen staff.
• Communicate with Banquet Management and Chef regarding dietary restrictions or allergies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure proper set-up for all tables and buffets in assigned meeting rooms, attention to detail.
• Inspect linen, silver, china, glassware and other table items for cleanliness and appearance.
• Serve food, coffee, water and other beverages to customers as required on the banquet event order.
• Resolve complaints in regards to banquet functions in a timely, positive and professional manner.
• Clean banquet room and banquet area during and after banquet functions.
• Be aware of and practice Langham Hotel’s service standards.
• Positive team player with the ability to get larger tasks completed.
• Follow health and safety procedures according to hotel specifications.
• Work well in a team atmosphere and independently.
• Performs general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by your supervisor to adhere to Health standards.
• Must adhere to All State, Federal and Corporate food handling and alcohol serving regulations.
• Communicate with Banquet Management on a daily basis.
• Communicate and coordinate with Chef in regards of special dietary restrictions or allergies.
• Cooperate closely with other members of the banquet team including servers, porters and kitchen associates.
• Additional duties may also be requested by supervisor.
• Acquire a working knowledge of the hotel, in house facilities and local information to respond to customer inquiries.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Prior banquets and food & beverage /hospitality experience required.
• Activities include standing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, handling, grasping, lifting, carrying, talking, and walking.
• Standing for 90% of work shift is required.
• Requires the ability to lift 50lbs.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Pay Rate:

• $19.50 per hour plus gratuity
