Job summary

Keswick Hall in Charlottesville is seeking a Banquet Server to join the Food & Beverage team and deliver exceptional service at events and daily functions. This role supports high-volume banquet service and luxury hospitality standards in a mountain-view luxury setting.

The position requires a high school diploma, CPR/First Aid AED certification, and knowledge of wine and cocktails. Flexibility for shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent) with 0–2 years food & beverage serving experience.
• Certified in CPR, First Aid AED.
• Strong wine, cocktail and menu knowledge.
• Solid knowledge of food & beverage operations.
• Proven ability to multi-task and observe the dining room.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare coffee breaks, carts and stations with supplies.
• Organize tables, action stations, buffets, and carts for service.
• Communicate any special meal requirements to the kitchen.
• Ensure courses are cleared and crumbed promptly.
• Present tableware attractively and accessibly for guests.

The Banquet Server is an essential member of the Food & Beverage team dedicated to delivering the best in service.

• Prepare coffee breaks, carts and stations with appropriate supplies.
• Organize tables, action stations, buffets, and carts for service.
• Communicate any additional meal requirements or special requests to the kitchen.
• Ensure courses are properly cleared and crumbed in a timely fashion.
• Manage the presentation of tableware so that it is accessible for the guests.
• Recognize and address potential intoxicated disruptive or undesirable guests.
• Monitor cleanliness and proper sanitization of tables, stations and service areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 0-2 yearsfood & beverage serving experience and/or high volume banquet servingexperience. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
• Certified in CPR, First Aid AED
• Strong wine, cocktail and menu knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of food & beverage.
• Strong ability to multi-task and observe entire dining room.
• Strong time management skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• The ability to be descriptive and engaging in the presentation.
• Must possess the ability to organize and prioritize.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts as will involve days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to go up and down staircase as well as stoop and bend.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
