Job summary

Keswick Hall in Charlottesville, VA seeks a Banquet Server to join the Food & Beverage team and deliver exceptional service at high-end events.

Responsibilities include preparing breaks and stations, coordinating with kitchen, clearing courses, and maintaining a pristine dining environment while accommodating guest needs. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and work varied shifts.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required or 0–2 years F&B serving experience.
  • CPR, First Aid AED certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of wine, cocktails and menu items
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task and observe dining room
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and navigate stairs

Responsibilities

  • Prepare coffee breaks, carts and stations with supplies.
  • Organize tables, action stations, buffets, and carts for service.
  • Communicate additional meal requirements to the kitchen.
  • Ensure courses are cleared and crumbed in a timely fashion.
  • Present tableware attractively and accessibly for guests.
  • Address intoxicated or disruptive guests.
  • Monitor cleanliness and sanitization of service areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Overview

History and spectacular landscapes come together, at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This is the setting for Keswick Hall, an impressive 80-room luxury boutique hotel nestled on 600 acres which recently re-opened in 2021 after renovations. Home to the prestigious Keswick Golf Club, Marigold Restaurant, by Jean-Georges, a new luxury spa and sports and aquatics center.

The Banquet Server is an essential member of the Food & Beverage team dedicated to delivering the best in service.

Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare coffee breaks, carts and stations with appropriate supplies.
  • Organize tables, action stations, buffets, and carts for service.
  • Communicate any additional meal requirements or special requests to the kitchen.
  • Ensure courses are properly cleared and crumbed in a timely fashion.
  • Manage the presentation of tableware so that it is accessible for the guests.
  • Recognize and address potential intoxicated disruptive or undesirable guests.
  • Monitor cleanliness and proper sanitization of tables, stations and service areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 0-2 years food & beverage serving experience and/or high volume banquet serving experience. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
  • Certified in CPR, First Aid AED
  • Strong wine, cocktail and menu knowledge.
  • Strong knowledge of food & beverage.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and observe entire dining room.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to be descriptive and engaging in the presentation.
  • Must possess the ability to organize and prioritize.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts as will involve days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to go up and down staircase as well as stoop and bend.Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
