Job summary

The Ballantyne in Charlotte, NC, seeks a Banquet Server to support our events with attentive service and professionalism. You will help set up and break down banquet spaces, greet guests, and ensure food and beverage service meets our standards.

Join a busy, guest-focused team at Northwood Hospitality. You should have prior banquet or restaurant experience, be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and be flexible for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Food Handler's certification is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet rooms according to event specifications (tables, chairs, linens, centerpieces).
• Break down banquet rooms after events and store equipment.
• Greet and serve food and beverages to guests in a timely, professional manner.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and adhere to sanitation procedures.
• Collaborate with banquet captains, bartenders, and kitchen staff for smooth operations.
• Assist with event planning and coordination as needed.
• Follow hotel policies and procedures.

Job Overview:

As a Banquet Server you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our events. You will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, setting up and breaking down banquet functions, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Event Setup and Breakdown:
• Set up banquet rooms according to event specifications, including tables, chairs, linens, and centerpieces.
• Break down banquet rooms after events, cleaning and storing equipment.
• Guest Service:
• Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and efficient manner.
• Anticipate guests' needs and respond to their requests promptly.
• Maintain a positive and attentive attitude throughout the event.
• Food and Beverage Service:
• Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
• Serve food and beverages according to established service standards.
• Clear tables and reset for the next course.
• Teamwork:
• Collaborate with other team members, including banquet captains, bartenders, and kitchen staff, to ensure smooth operations.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and managers.
• Additional Duties:
• Assist with event planning and coordination as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
• Adhere to all hotel policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in banquet or restaurant service preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
• Flexible availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Food Handler's Certification (or willingness to obtain).
