Atwell, LLC is seeking an On-Call Archaeologist Technician to work in the Midwest on projects that are not yet solidified. You should have at least three months of field experience and be willing to travel on short notice.

The role involves assisting with fieldwork, data collection, and maintaining detailed field reports, with travel to sites across Michigan, Illinois, northern Indiana, and northern Ohio during peak seasons.

Qualifications

• BA in anthropology, archaeology, or closely related field.
• Eight miles of walking per day over consecutive days.
• Willingness to travel and stay in hotels for several weeks at a time.
• At least one year of archaeological field experience preferred.
• Completion of an archaeology field school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with fieldwork and data collection for cultural resource management projects.
• Travel to sites in the upper Midwest, primarily in Michigan, Illinois, northern Indiana, and northern Ohio.
• Work during peak field seasons in spring and fall.
• Maintain accurate field reports and documentation.
