Job summary

Jacobs is seeking on-call archaeologists to support a variety of projects across Colorado, Wyoming and nearby western states. Work involves cultural resources support for planning, engineering, and construction services for renewable energy, government, military, transport and commercial clients.

The ideal candidate holds a BA in Anthropology/Archaeology/CRM with 3+ years field experience, GIS familiarity, GPS skills, and strong writing. Hybrid work model, travel required.

Qualifications

• At least a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology/Archaeology/CRM.
• Minimum of 3+ years of all phases of professional archaeological field work experience.
• Experience in construction monitoring and collaborating with tribal monitors.
• Knowledge of historic preservation laws and policies, including NEPA, NHPA, ARPA, and NAGPRA.
• Familiarity with state regulations and cultural resources policies for Colorado, Wyoming or adjacent states.
• Experience using GPS technology.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must be capable of walking for long periods of time over unfamiliar terrain, excavating shovel tests and test units, screening soil, and carrying field equipment.
• Must be willing and able to travel frequently and for long periods of time, as needed.
• Must be motivated and able to work safely with minimum supervision.
• Experience and comfort in working independently in the field and office.

Responsibilities

• Provide cultural resources support for planning, engineering and construction services.
• Support NHPA, NEPA compliance during projects.
• Collaborate with senior cultural resources staff on diverse assignments.
• Travel frequently to field sites across Colorado, Wyoming, and surrounding states.
