Job summary

Jacobs is seeking Staff Archaeologists to support cultural resources for planning, engineering, and construction across Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Alabama. This role is hired as part-time, on-call (1–20 hours per week) with potential to become full-time, and operates under Jacobs’ hybrid work policy.

Work will be supervised by senior cultural resources staff; travel is frequent and fieldwork is required, including monitoring, data collection, and reporting under NHPA/ARPA/NEPA

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology/Archaeology/CRM required.
• 2+ years of professional archaeological field work experience.
• Experience with construction monitoring and tribal monitors.
• Knowledge of NHPA, ARPA, NEPA, NAGPRA and related policies.
• Experience using GPS tools and field data apps (EOS, FieldMap, Survey123).
• Proficiency with MS Office and strong communication skills.
• Ability to walk long distances over rugged terrain and travel frequently.

Responsibilities

• Support cultural resources activities for planning, engineering, and construction.
• Conduct field monitoring and data collection in diverse projects.
• Collaborate with federal/state regulations and tribal monitors as needed.
• Prepare site forms and compliance reports under NHPA/ARPA/NEPA.
