Job summary

Environmental Science Associates (ESA) is seeking On-Call Archaeological Field Technicians for the Northwest Region, including Seattle, Portland and Bend. The role involves monitoring construction activities for archaeological resources and coordinating with crews on active sites.

Successful candidates will perform field monitoring, data collection, and log maintenance with GIS-enabled tools; occasional night or weekend work may be required, and a valid driver’s license is necessary.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent combination in archaeology, anthropology, history or related field, and applicable field experience.
• Minimum six months field experience or related academic field experience in the Northwest Region.
• Able to pass federal and state background checks for project assignments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor construction activities and identify archaeological resources.
• Communicate effectively with construction crews and project personnel.
• Write and maintain daily surveys, logs, and cataloging records using digital tools.
