Job summary

Environmental Science Associates (ESA) seeks an Archaeologist in the Seattle area with 3+ years of experience performing cultural resources surveys, testing, data recovery, and monitoring. The role supports on-site field work and a hybrid schedule from ESA’s Seattle office.

The candidate will manage and carry out archaeological investigations, write technical documents, and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to meet NEPA/SEPA and Executive Order requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in archaeology, geoarchaeology, or closely related field.
• Ability to lead survey crews and produce well-written cultural resources documents.
• SOI qualifications and NEPA/SEPA project experience are preferred.
• Experience with records searches and agency coordination is valued.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage and conduct archaeological resources assessments.
• Lead archaeological resources survey and related documentation.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary projects and prepare scopes of work and budgets.
• Prepare draft reports and ensure NEPA/SEPA compliance.
