Job summary

WSP USA Inc. is seeking 10 to 15 Archaeological Field Technicians for field projects in Nevada, Oregon, and Utah. These on-call hourly positions require the ability to perform Class III survey work, with per diem and hotel lodging provided.

Travel to remote sites and long hours in tough conditions are common. Qualified candidates will hold a degree in Archaeology/Anthropology, have at least one year of field experience, and be able to work independently while following safety and reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related discipline.
• Minimum one year of archaeological field experience.
• CRM field experience or academic field school.
• Familiarity with documenting archaeological sites and artifacts.
• Ability to plan and execute assignments with minimal instruction.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background check and drug test.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support using field techniques to locate, test, record, map, and evaluate archaeological sites.
• Support field surveys through pedestrian surveys and shovel test surveys.
• Use topo maps, aerial photographs, and ESRI Arc Field Maps to conduct survey work.
• Work long hours in remote environments and varying weather conditions.
• Collaborate effectively with diverse teams and communicate professionally.
• Plan and execute personal assignments with minimal instruction.
