Job summary

Sunrise Management & Consulting is seeking an on‑site Maintenance Technician to service the Canfield Apartment community in Gansevoort, NY. The role requires at least two years of related experience including repairs from work orders, turnovers, painting, cleaning, and grounds maintenance.

Responsibilities include responding to resident work orders, patching and painting interiors, snow removal, and safety compliance.

Qualifications

Basic plumbing, electrical, painting/patching, and carpentry skills.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair maintenance issues in apartments and common areas.
The use of tools and machinery and the knowledge of how to properly maintain and operate them.
Ability to work on-call and overtime hours.
Ability to maintain professionalism while in continuous contact with residents and other employees.
Knowledge of painting and patching.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and techniques.
Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language.
Ability to lift objects weighing 50 lbs. without assistance.
Ability to operate a company truck, keep it clean, and with adequate gas.
Ability to multi-task, establish priorities.
Ability to manage time.
Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Ability to maintain a positive relationship with coworkers and supervisors.
Cannot be a resident of a Sunrise-managed apartment community.
Must have a valid, clean New York State driver’s license.
Must have own vehicle that can be used to drive to and from work and between job sites.
Must have basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

Responds to work orders from residents by assessing issues and making needed repairs.
Patches, paints, and cleans apartment interiors to specified standards and schedules.
Cleans and assists with the upkeep of the apartment community and common areas.
Maintenance of property exterior and grounds, including snow removal and debris removal; keeps walkways safe.
Maintains a courteous, professional demeanor and communicates with urgency.
Maintains a positive customer service attitude and professional communications.
Completes logs, work orders, Entrata records, and other required documents.
Complies with safety regulations in performance of duties.
Other duties as assigned.
