The John Stewart Company in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive, emergency, cosmetic and routine maintenance across our apartment communities. The role emphasizes safe work practices, attention to detail, and strong time management.

You will respond to work orders, schedule preventative tasks, conduct inspections, and coordinate with residents and the Property Manager. On-call availability and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ maintenance experience in apartment development or similar setting.
• Basic mathematical and computer skills with fluency in English.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus.
• Strong time management skills and reliability.
• Knowledge of REAC or regulatory inspections is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Schedules and responds to work orders, including follow-up with residents and management.
• Ensures preventative maintenance scheduling and performance are up to date.
• Performs cosmetic and routine maintenance throughout the community.
• Handles unit turnovers and prepares for new move-ins to meet deadlines.
• Conducts move-in/move-out inspections and quarterly inspections with PM.
• Performs plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry and masonry repairs as needed.
• Coordinates and oversees vendor work with the Property Manager.
• Be on-call for off-shift and weekend emergency maintenance coverage.
• Maintain reliable transportation and respond to emergencies as required.
