Job summary

Dweck Properties in Arlington, VA is seeking a Maintenance Tech to be the community’s hero, handling routine maintenance, service requests and preparing apartments for new residents to move in, ensuring a comfortable place to call home. The role requires a Monday–Friday schedule with on‑call emergency responses on a rotating basis, and work across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliances.

Qualifications

• Experience in apartment maintenance or hotel engineering in plumbing, electrical and HVAC.
• EPA HVAC certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, and work in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Respond within 24 hours to service requests and resolve maintenance concerns.
• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and replace parts in HVAC systems.
• Inspect, test, and repair electrical systems including lighting.
• Install and maintain plumbing, valves, fittings, and fixtures.
• Repair and maintain appliances in resident units.
• Prepare vacant apartments for market-ready status.
• Use Yardi to maintain preventive maintenance records and work orders.
• Walk the property daily to ensure safety and upkeep.
• Report major repairs to Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager.
• Promote safety and compliance, document incidents when needed.
• Volunteer to assist other technicians at sister communities.
• Maintain workshops and notify Supervisor of low supplies.
• Maintain professional appearance and check emails daily.
