Omm IT Solutions in Richardson, TX is seeking a senior IT Database Administrator to manage MS SQL Server on Azure and PostgreSQL. The role requires deep expertise in database design, performance tuning, and 24/7 on-call support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent; three years of progressive experience in lieu of education acceptable.
• 7+ years of Information Technology experience.
• 6+ years of MS SQL Server on Azure/PostgreSQL administration and maintenance.
• Understanding of Azure framework; MS SQL Server in Azure required.
• Install and configure MS SQL Server; configure clustering and Always On.
• Capacity planning based on database growth patterns.
• Troubleshoot SQL Clustering and PostgreSQL environments; monitor DB systems.
• Strong analytics, data modeling, and performance tuning for MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• Upgrade and migrate databases from SQL Server to PostgreSQL.
• Maintain data integrity and security; manage DB roles/permissions.

Please Note:

• It is 100% Onsite Position.
• Candidate must be located within commuting distance or willing to relocate to Richardson, TX

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education
• At least 7 years of Information Technology experience
• At least 6 years of experience in MS SQL server on Azure/PostgreSQL administration and maintenance
• Understanding of Azure framework, MS SQL Server in Azure is a must
• Able to install and configure the MS SQL Server, configure the SQL clustering, SQL Always On Availability Groups
• Able to do the capacity planning based on the growth pattern of the databases
• Have expert troubleshooting skills on the SQL Clustering environment and Postgres environment
• Monitor, maintain database systems and troubleshoot problems that may arise
• Strong Analytic skills, Data Modelling & Performance tuning in MS SQL server/PostgreSQL
• Perform Upgrade of databases to different versions of SQL and migration of databases from SQL server to PostgreSQL
• Maintain data integrity and security (manage roles and permissions of database users)
• Use tools like SQL Profiler, Database tuning advisor, Execution plans for database tuning and Index recommendations
• Generate traces, execution plans, identify performance issues, deadlocks/contention and resolve them
• Develop strategies and implement solutions for managing back‑ups, restoration and replication
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Reporting Services (SSRS), and Analysis Services (SSAS)
• Should be well versed with the SQL replication functions and Change Data capture process
