Job summary

Lilly is seeking a Mixed Modality (Oligonucleotide) Advisor to lead oligonucleotide transfers from development to pilot plant operations, driving gram-to-kilogram scale‑up and ensuring cGMP readiness. The role requires deep expertise in oligonucleotide processes and cross‑functional collaboration across R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality.

You will shape strategies, oversee tech transfers, and mentor scientists while supporting the Lilly Medicine Foundry’s startup phase.

Qualifications

• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience in Oligonucleotide Product/Process Development or related roles.

Responsibilities

• Set strategy and technical direction for oligonucleotide process transfers across programs.
• Define the scale-up approach for synthesis and purification methods.
• Serve as the site's technical authority on oligonucleotide operations (synthesis, purification, TFF, lyophilization).
• Translate analytical data into strategic technical recommendations for program and site leadership.
• Represent process chemistry challenges to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
