Job summary

Virtual Vocations Inc. is seeking a Senior Certified Coder - HB Inpatient for a fully remote, full-time role in the United States. The position requires coding for outpatient, surgical, and inpatient encounters with strict DRG accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Job description

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Senior Certified Coder - HB Inpatient will analyze complex clinical information to assign ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT/HCPCS codes across various care settings, ensuring compliance and accuracy in coding practices.

Key responsibilities

• Perform coding for outpatient, surgical, and inpatient encounters, ensuring accurate DRG assignment and compliance with regulatory standards
• Review complex documentation, resolve discrepancies, and manage multiple work queues while maintaining coding accuracy and productivity
• Provide mentorship to coding staff and collaborate with CDI and providers to ensure alignment of documentation and coding

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of coding experience
• High School Diploma or GED
• AHIMA-RHIA, AHIMA-RHIT, AHIMA-CCS, AAPC-CPC, AAPC-CIC, or AAPC-COC certification required
• Proficiency in applying ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT/HCPCS coding guidelines
• Ability to independently interpret clinical documentation to support coding accuracy
