Job summary

Doyon, Limited is seeking a skilled Rig Electrician to install, maintain, and repair electrical and electronic components on oilfield and drilling equipment. The role requires hands-on experience with motors, generators, VFDs, PLCs, and rig control systems.

Candidate must have a high school diploma or GED, at least three years of rig electrician work, and a valid Alaska driver’s license. NSTC certification and a Journeyman Card are preferred; strong safety focus is essential in extreme

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of rig electrician experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
• NSTC (North Slope Training Certificate).
• Valid Alaska driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair electrical and electronic components of oilfield machinery and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on motors, generators, air conditioning, alarm systems and VFD units.
• Troubleshoot PLC-based control logic and VFD control systems.
• Diagnose and repair rig SCR systems and Top Drive power/control systems.
• Install wiring and conduit for machines and equipment; connect power supply and control cables.
• Replace faulty components and test machinery; coordinate with crew to diagnose issues.
