Job summary

Doyon, Limited is seeking a skilled Rig Electrician to install, maintain, and repair electrical and electronic components on oilfield and drilling equipment. The role requires hands-on experience with motors, generators, VFDs, PLCs, and rig control systems.

Candidate must have a high school diploma or GED, at least three years of rig electrician work, and a valid Alaska driver’s license. NSTC certification and a Journeyman Card are preferred; strong safety focus is essential in extreme

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Three years of rig electrician experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
NSTC (North Slope Training Certificate).
Valid Alaska driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain and repair electrical and electronic components of oilfield machinery and equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance on motors, generators, air conditioning, alarm systems and VFD units.
Troubleshoot PLC-based control logic and VFD control systems.
Diagnose and repair rig SCR systems and Top Drive power/control systems.
Install wiring and conduit for machines and equipment; connect power supply and control cables.
Replace faulty components and test machinery; coordinate with crew to diagnose issues.
