Doyon Drilling in Alaska seeks a skilled rig electrician to install, maintain and repair electrical systems on oilfield rigs and related equipment. You will troubleshoot PLC-based controls, work with VFDs, SCRs, Top Drive systems and handle wiring installations in harsh environmental conditions.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years of rig electrician experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • NSTC (North Slope Training Certificate).
  • Valid Alaska driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on wiring and equipment (motors, generators, AC, alarms, VFDs).
  • Troubleshoot PLC-based control systems and VFD control logic.
  • Repair rig SCR and Top Drive power/control systems.
  • Install wiring and conduit for motors, pumps, conveyors, lighting and alarms.
  • Diagnose and replace faulty electrical components (relays, boards, switches, motors).
  • Test machinery and coordinate with crew to diagnose issues.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and document work.
