Job summary

Oliva Gibbs LLP seeks an experienced Oil and Gas Title Attorney to bolster our Appalachia team. The role requires drafting title opinions, due diligence on oil and gas transactions, and strong collaboration with senior attorneys.

Hybrid work is offered for nearby offices, with a strong emphasis on ethical practice and client confidentiality. Ideal candidates will have a JD and at least one year drafting title opinions in OH, WV, or PA, along with familiarity with division orders and ownership

Qualifications

JD and active license with at least one year of experience drafting title opinions covering lands in Ohio, West Virginia, or Pennsylvania.
Familiarity preparing large, unit-wide division order ownerships with tract and allocation factors.
Strong ethics, client confidentiality, and professional conduct.

Responsibilities

Conduct oil and gas title examinations to determine ownership of properties.
Draft title opinions highlighting defects, liens, or issues affecting ownership or use.
Perform due diligence for oil and gas transactions including mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
Draft, review, and negotiate leases, joint operating agreements, and related contracts.
Ensure regulatory compliance and collaborate with litigation when needed.
Support team with accurate, timely legal solutions and maintain quarterly billable target of 450 hours.
