Job summary

Oliva Gibbs LLP in Ohio seeks a detail-oriented Oil & Gas Title Attorney to join our Appalachia team. You will conduct title examinations, draft opinions, and assist with due diligence for transactions across Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

The ideal candidate holds a JD with an active license, has at least one year drafting title opinions, and embraces collaboration, ethics, and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• JD with active license; 1+ year drafting title opinions for lands in OH, WV, PA.
• Familiarity with large unit-wide division order ownerships, tract factors.
• Ethical practice and client confidentiality.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Growth mindset and ongoing professional development.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Oil & Gas Title Expertise: conduct title examinations; identify documents; draft title opinions; due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, JOAs.
• Contract Negotiation and Drafting: draft/review/ negotiate leases and joint operating agreements.
• Regulatory Compliance: stay updated on applicable laws.
• Litigation support: collaborate with litigation attorneys as needed.
• Team Collaboration: work with team members with honesty, hard work, and trust.
• Meet quarterly billable requirement of 450 hours.
• Pursue continuous learning opportunities.
• Support other activities per business priorities.
