Job summary

Oliva Gibbs LLP is seeking an Oil & Gas Title Attorney to join our Appalachia team. The role focuses on title examinations, drafting title opinions, and due diligence for lands in Ohio, West Virginia, or Pennsylvania.

You will draft and negotiate leases and joint operating agreements while staying current with applicable regulations and collaborating with other attorneys. Ideal candidates hold a JD, license, and have experience in oil and gas transactions, with a commitment to ethics and client

Qualifications

JD and active license required.
Experience drafting title opinions covering lands in Ohio, West Virginia, or Pennsylvania.
Strong commitment to ethical practice and client confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Conduct title examinations to determine ownership related to oil and gas properties.
Identify and analyze deeds, leases, and contracts to establish ownership rights.
Draft title opinions highlighting defects, liens, or issues affecting ownership.
Perform due diligence for oil and gas transactions including mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
Provide guidance on legal risks, liabilities, and mitigation strategies.
Draft, review, and negotiate leases, joint operating agreements, and purchase/sale agreements.
Stay updated on federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Collaborate with litigation attorneys as needed.
Work with team to ensure accurate execution of complex transactions.
Meet quarterly billable requirement of 450 hours and pursue continuous learning.
